Colwyn’s latest Hunter Briefing on Slideshare.net

Colwyn, our Director of Planning and Strategy has written the presentation above and posted it onto slideshare.net as part of The Hunter Briefing series.

The Hunter Briefing, entitled ‘A Bird’s Eye View on Sustainability in Fashion’, poses the question, Which is the bigger environmental threat – The materials and processes involved in clothing production, OR the fashion industry’s obsession with new looks and ongoing mass consumption?

One of the most popular subjects is the The uniform project. The self-described ‘One Dress, 365 Days’ is one woman’s pledge to wear the same dress for a year – with a different twist every day.

And that woman is New York-based Sheena Matheiken. It’s actually seven carbon copies of one dress, which she jazzes up with vintage accessories, thrift store finds and eBay purchases.

“Think of it as wearing a daily uniform with enough creative license to make it look like I just crawled out of the Marquis de Sade’s boudoir”
Sheena Matheiken

The Hunter Briefing on sustainability in fashion includes:

  • Upcycling
  • Charity Shop/Vintage/ Recessionista Chic
  • Transumerism
  • The Slow Fashion Movement
  • Origins
  • Clothing Made to Keep

Read it, save it, pass it on.

Colwyn – The Hunting Dynasty’s Director of Planning & Strategy – has collated her thoughts on the trends of sustainability in fashion.
