Behavioural Economics for Sustainability: Selling products & initiatives that cut costs & cut carbon

Founder invited to speak at the Forum For The Future

logoF4FOliver spoke at a private Forum For The Future event held by Sol and Celia – two Master’s Degree undergraduates – as part of their final examination.

Sol and Celia invited Oliver to present a 30 min Creating Sustainable Behaviour primer (now available on SlideShare) as part of their overall afternoon theme ‘Mainstreaming Sustainable Behaviour’. On request, the presentation ended with three principles of sustainable behaviour change that could be used by the group in a workshop to reposition a carshare brand and a reuseable bottled water product.

The audience consisted of Forum For The Future undergrads, staff, and the businesses that provide placements for the students, including Sainsbury’s and BT.

Founded in 1996 by Jonathon Porritt, Sara Parkin and Paul Ekins, Forum For The Future is an independent, non-profit organisation with a mission to promote sustainable development. Their partner organisations are some of the best-known brands in the world, including giants like BP, PepsiCo, Vodafone and AkzoNobel.
